The holiday season is approaching FAST! Family traditions are important and special no matter how big or small. We spend a lot of time scrapbooking special events & memories and here on the LMN-O-Pea blog we are really interested in hearing some of your family's holiday traditions!

So….share with us! What makes the holidays special to you and your family? What is it that your family does every year and without it the holidays just wouldn't be the same? Do you bake cookies as a family, is it a special recipe that Grandma or Mom makes only during the holidays? Or..maybe its something totally different. We would love to hear your stories so respond to us here on the blog...post..post..post away :-)

Also by responding on our blog only (not the yahoo group) you qualify for a really cute giveaway! Each person that shares a family tradition with us will be eligible to win!! A winner will be chosen via the integer generator and announced the week of December 1st. The winner will receive a small gift in the mail from LMN-O-Pea!

Future Retreat Update

Much to our delight everyone is having such a good time at the retreats, those of you who have expressed interest in the April retreat exceeds our usual capacity. Originally, we gave all our past retreaters a week to sign up before we opened the retreat to the public. Given the overwhelming response and new friends who want to be included we feel it best to switch to a true first come first served policy.

We have reconfigured the room to allow for additional retreaters. For those of you who have attended in the past, don't be alarmed. We aren't taking any space away, you will still have your regular crop space and the same amount of room between tables.

Sign ups for April are open and you are free to sign up anytime you like. In order to hold your spot you must complete your registration form, email it back to us and pay your deposit of $50. Your second payment will not be due until Feb 15th, third & final payment due on March 15th. After we have received your registration form and deposit you will receive a confirmation email that you are registered. Once the retreat is full, the contact list we set up will become our waiting list. The registration form has been posted on the yahoo group. Paypal buttons for each retreat are here on the blog for your convenience. If you prefer to mail your payment; please contact us for payment information and if you would like to be on the contact list for April or October of 2009, please email us ASAP so we can add your name.

Please encourage anyone wanting to attend the retreat with you to email us ASAP and join the yahoo group.

Thank you,

Lisa, Michelle & Nicole

A few pea-nouncements

Good evening ladies,

Never could we have imagined when the three of us moved forward with the idea of hostessing retreats last year that it would turn into such a fun experience. We were all so excited to share in the planning and the ideas flowed like a waterfall. We are in awe and thankful that everyone is having such a great time and we strive to make them better with each passing retreat. Having three ladies with different ideas and styles really enabled us to bring different aspects of scrapbooking & stamping to our guests. We are sure saddened to lose Lisa Gomez and will miss her dearly. However, new & exciting things are on the horizon for her and we can't wait to see what inspired ideas come from her continued involvement with The Angel Company as she grows her business in Corpus. Hopefully she'll come back to see us for a visit and share her new ideas. In the meantime - we wish you much hap-pea-ness girl!

We met with Lisa Shapiro over the weekend to get the "goods" on her October class ...if you thought the last one was cute hold on to your hats because this one is precious! Over the course of the last year, Lisa has shared some unique ideas with us for the retreats and after the response to her class in August we felt she would be a good fit for the pod. We are excited to announce that she will join us in hostessing the retreats from this point forward. For those who don't know her, Lisa has taught at a few local scrap stores, been on design teams and always seems to be up on the latest trends and products. Welcome Lisa; we're hap-pea to have you and look forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve!

Lastly, we can't believe the October retreat filled up so fast...you ladies booked it full in one day flat! Since we have all our participants signed up, we've listed the swap poll for October; please vote in as many as you like. Depending on the numbers we may have a few and we'll give you the option when we take sign ups to participate in one, two or all. With the poll we're just looking to see where the interest lies most. Please keep in mind that if you sign up and aren't able to participate email us ASAP so we can fill the spot or make additional items to cover your spot - we're happy to do so, just let us know.

Theme Clues for Blog Candy

Yes. Clues. We decided a photo might make it a little too easy so we came up with a few clues...make you work for it. May not be work for some.

The theme is a two part answer....we will accept one part to win...the first person to get both parts gets an extra goodie not pictured. We'll divy up the goodies in the photo below between the first four ladies attending the October retreat who guess correctly. The clues below can represent many things but the commonality between them is our theme.

CLUES:

The Wild Swans at Coole
George Inness
Samhain
Herbsttag
Scythe

Email us with your guess to lmnopearetreats@gmail.com and good luck!!

Evening ladies! I uploaded a slide show with some photos from the retreat last weekend. There are so many good ones and Michelle is right - everyone is so photogenic! I hate that it will only allow me 50 photos...I think I had 92 ready to add...

I can't wait to print some photos and put my swap pages in an album - both the page and card swaps were really nice. We have such talented ladies!

A great big thank you to the ladies who donated baby scrapping materials to First Memories; they will be so appreciative. Another department has started a similar program so anything that FMT might not be able to use will still find a good home with other patients & families.

Until next time...get your scrap on!

Aloha

Wow...this past weekend was such a blast! I hope that everyone had just as much fun as I did! The luau theme was perfect because the Aloha spirit was definitely in the air. Lots of scrapping, sharing, eating and laughing going on - which is exactly what its all about!

It was so much fun I was totally exhausted when I got home LOL I believe I slept 27 hours in a 48 hour time frame :-) My family just thought I was gonna be gone for 4 days...ends up it was more like 5 because I was mia in my room for the other one LOL Oh well...I feel much much better today :) We all know the old saying...If Momma is happy then everybody is happy so I'm sure they didn't mind at all ....teeheehee...LOL

It was so great to meet all the new ladies and to see the ones I haven't seen in awhile again! Looking forward to October......see you then if not before :-)

Summer Sneak Peek!!

I hope each of you summer retreat attendees have had the time to make your way over here for a chance at an entry in the raffle. I apologize for the delay but my camera went kaput and I'm fighting with my oldie (but not so goodie) standby. So...if you think you know what the theme is based on this peek, email us at lmnopearetreats@gmail.com and if you are correct, we will give you one free entry in the raffle:

If no one guesses I will post a new picture clue on Friday so keep checking back if you can't figure it out! Happy guessing!

If you haven't already seen them, check out the new slideshows I created from our past two retreats at the bottom of our blog page.

Retreat recovery....

Like the Sept 07 retreat, the weekend went by in a flash and it was over before I knew it! Met some wonderful new scrappers & enjoyed seeing our returning retreaters. Ate one too many marshmallows at the bonfire but I am happy to report I got 7 - yes 7! pages completed along with a mini album I cut on the Cricut in the shape of a Christmas Tree. That doesn't include my beautiful musical scrapping layout...it's the best girls!! Everyone did a great job on the card swap and we each went home with 17 new cards to give....or keep and admire from time to time!

We are already planning the August retreat and will be posting some sneak peeks to give you something to ponder over the next few months.
